FROST CENTER

for Community and Social Services

‍WELCOME!

We’re exploring a plan to restore and repurpose this historic landmark as a new home for Thetford’s social services and community organizations.

The Frost Center proposition is powerful because it combines preservation + contemporary community use.

What could the Frost Center become?

Preserve a landmark.

Restore and protect one of Thetford's most significant historic buildings.

Give it new purpose.

Create an accessible home for community programs and essential social services.

Build for the future.

Adapt the Frost building so it can continue serving Thetford for generations.

“Having a place to start from as a hub for the social services and community needs would be extremely helpful.”

— Liz Carey, Social Services Coordinator for Thetford

It would be wonderful for the Community Nurse to have regular access to office space in the Timothy Frost building.

—Pril Hall, Board President, Community Nurse of Thetford, Inc.

In a nutshell…

A welcoming community space offering a variety of support services, events, and activities for all ages.

Where does the project stand today?

Frost Center project update · September, 2026

  • The Town of Thetford has hired Studio Nexus Architects and Planners to work with engineering teams to conduct studies and develop a 100% Schematic Design package for the proposed renovation and lower-level addition to the Frost Building.

  • The architects will work closely with a Construction Manager, soon to be engaged, to help ensure cost efficiency throughout the design process. The Construction Manager will then develop a comprehensive project budget for the Town’s review.

  • Once a project budget has been established, a fundraising plan will be developed, with funding expected to come from individual donors, grants, and the Town of Thetford.

  • A proposal for moving forward with the project would then be presented to Thetford voters at the 2027 Town Meeting.

  • Another important step forward is the launch of this new website and a new eNewsletter to keep the community informed as the project develops.

  • Explore this website to learn more about the plans, proposed uses, history of the building, and ways to get involved.

  • Sign up for the eNewsletter to receive important updates about the Frost Center project.

“The Frost Center, along with the new Village Store/Café (in addition to our thriving Community Center), will bring much needed and desired life and activity to our village center.”

— Nicky Corrao, President, Thetford Center Community Association

“Because Thetford currently has no space for our seniors to gather, having a welcoming area open to all… is vitally important.”
