Where the project stands today

Timothy Frost building - September 2026

The Frost Center project is moving forward

The Frost Center project is moving forward — but it’s important to be clear about where things stand. The Town of Thetford has not yet approved the Frost Center project, and we are not currently raising funds.

What’s happening now

  1. The Town of Thetford has hired Studio Nexus Architects and Planners to work with engineering teams to conduct studies and develop a 100% Schematic Design package for the proposed renovation and lower-level addition to the Frost Building.

  2. The architects will work closely with a Construction Manager, soon to be engaged, to help ensure cost efficiency throughout the design process. The Construction Manager will then develop a comprehensive project budget for the Town’s review.

  3. Once the design work and project budget are complete, attention will turn to funding, which could include individual contributions, grants, and Town support.

Ultimately, Thetford voters will have a say in whether the project moves forward.

The questions this work will answer

  • What will it take to preserve the building?

  • How might the space best serve the community?

  • What will the project cost?

The new Frost Center website

Another important step forward is the launch of frost-center.org, a new website designed to give the community one place to learn about the building, follow the restoration project, explore ideas for its future, and stay informed as plans develop.

James Taylor of TaylorMade Design, a longtime Thetford resident, has been working with the Friends of Frost to develop the site. Our goal is to make the project as understandable and transparent as possible — including what has been decided, what hasn’t, and where the community can participate.

We hope you’ll take a look, explore the history and possibilities for the Frost Center, and let us know what you think.
